HighChem Company Limited (Head office: Chuo Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Ushio Taka hereinafter referred to as HighChem) is pleased to announce that it has reorganized its organizational functions as of January 1st of this year in order to smoothly implement its Fifth Medium-Term Business Plan, which begins in fiscal 2020.

Since its establishment in 1998, HighChem has built a strong chemical network between Japan and China as a specialized chemical trading company and has developed Trading Business. In addition, since 2009, we have entered C1 Chemicals Licensing Business, and are engaged in multi-business development that allows us to provide Total Solutions that go beyond licensing. In the fifth mid-term business plan that begins this year, we will further develop our existing businesses and realize economic prosperity, and as new businesses, we will actively work on business development to improve carbon utilization efficiency and solve marine plastic problems, and move forward as a company that can contribute to environmental prosperity.

1. Organizational change

・Sales Headquarters will be renamed "Trade Headquarters" and a new Chemicals Division will be established under it, combining the Functional Chemicals Division and the Chemical Products Division. In addition, five new departments and one section will be established (see below).

・Establish a new "C1 Chemicals Division" combining the Industrial Catalyst Division and the SEG Business Division.

・A new Materials and Energy Division will be established to mainly handle new business ventures.
