HighChem Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Ushio Taka; hereinafter referred to as "HighChem") will be exhibiting at CPHI JAPAN (International Pharmaceutical Development Expo) from April 17 to 19, 2024 at Tokyo Big Sight (Booth No.: 6F-14). At this event, HighChem will introduce "Seplife®," the nucleic acid and peptide solid phase synthesis resins from Sunresin New Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sunresin"), with whom HighChem entered into an exclusive distributor agreement last year. HighChem is actively promoting the expansion of these products in the Japanese market.

Solid phase synthesis is a method in which target molecules (nucleic acid monomers or modified amino acids) are sequentially linked to pre-attached molecules (linkers) on the surface of bead-shaped resins to synthesize medium-to-long chain molecules. The medium-sized compounds obtained through this synthesis method enable the development of new therapeutic drugs, expanding treatment options for various diseases. This method is particularly revolutionary in the field of drug development for rare diseases and unmet medical needs.

Sunresin, headquartered in Xi’an, China, is a listed high-tech company specializing in ion exchange resins, adsorption resins for protein impurities, and related separation and purification technologies. Sunresin focuses on developing and manufacturing advanced material solutions for a wide range of industries, including water treatment, food and beverage, biopharmaceuticals, environmental protection, and resource recovery.

Last year, HighChem and Sunresin signed an exclusive distributor agreement for Seplife® series products in Japan, excluding certain customers. Together, they are exploring the Japanese market for nucleic acid and peptide solid phase synthesis resins. Through this exhibition at CPHI, they aim to increase awareness of Sunresin’s high-quality and cost-competitive products.
