HighChem Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Ushio Taka) is strengthening its domestic supply system for cyclohexanone, an essential intermediate material used in the production of nylon. Building on our existing supply base in Chiba Prefecture, we will establish a new supply base in Hyogo Prefecture (Kansai region), creating a two-base system covering both eastern and western Japan. This initiative addresses growing concerns over domestic supply by improving supply stability and shortening lead times, thereby supporting our customers' business continuity.
About Cyclohexanone
Cyclohexanone is a versatile chemical with a wide range of applications, including as an intermediate in synthetic nylon production, as a solvent in paints and inks, and in electronic materials. Demand for this product is expected to continue growing. However, the recent announcements of production withdrawal by major manufacturers have raised concerns about stable supply within Japan.
Since 2009, HighChem has maintained cyclohexanone storage tanks in Chiba Prefecture and has supplied China-sourced products for over 15 years. We ensure stable supply and outstanding cost performance by carefully selecting reliable Chinese manufacturers and implementing rigorous quality control systems. Until now, we have mainly supplied products to the Kanto region. Moving forward, by expanding supply to the Kansai region, we aim to further enhance convenience for our customers.
