In an effort to promote the recycling of used cooking oils, HighChem Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Ushio Taka) has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with UT&S Co., Ltd., a company specializing in industrial waste recycling and processing technology research and development. As a result, HighChem will begin selling recycled vegetable oils derived from used cooking oils, such as industrial processing oils and lubricants, produced by UT&S in the Japanese and Chinese markets.
Currently, the amount of used cooking oil generated in Japan is approximately 400,000 tons annually from restaurants and food businesses, and around 100,000 tons annually from households. UT&S has established technology for recycling, producing high-quality industrial vegetable oils and fuels from discarded cooking oils and non-food grade vegetable virgin oils using special refining techniques. The recycled oils produced using this technology can be used in a wide range of applications, including fuels for engines and boilers, lubricants, additives, and industrial oils, providing stable quality across various uses.
Carbon Neutral Recycled Vegetable Oil Made from 100% Vegetable Oil
The recycled vegetable oil developed by UT&S has high biodegradability and has obtained the Eco Mark certification. Additionally, it is made from 100% vegetable oil, and as an environmentally friendly material, it has obtained various certifications, including the Biomass Mark. Furthermore, in terms of performance, the oil offers higher lubricity and a higher flash point (flame resistance) compared to mineral oil-based products. The product lineup is suitable for various processing environments, such as machining, cutting, and rolling, and custom models tailored to the working environment and form are also available.
HighChem is leveraging its domestic and international sales networks to supply eco-friendly vegetable oils to domestic customers seeking green, environmentally-conscious materials, while also focusing on developing the rapidly growing green market in China.
