HighChem Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Mr. Taka Ushio; hereinafter "HighChem"), a global chemical trading and manufacturing company, and Carbon Energy (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Carbon Energy"), a climate tech company, announce the establishment of a joint venture company "HighEnergy Co., Ltd." on February 18, 2025, with the aim of jointly developing and promoting advanced technologies for CO2 utilization.

Purpose of Joint Venture Establishment
HighChem has been promoting the development and commercialization of decarbonization technologies in chemical manufacturing using CO2 as a raw material, based on C1-based SEG® technology. The company leverages its strengths in new catalyst development and social implementation, expanding globally through innovative products, technologies, and services. Meanwhile, Carbon Energy provides carbon neutral solutions by developing catalysts, reaction equipment, and advanced processes to efficiently and economically convert CO2 into green chemical products such as synthesis gas, synthetic oil, and methanol.
The joint venture has been established to jointly develop and promote the following advanced technologies for CO2 utilization, maximizing the strengths of both companies.
