HighChem Launches Trial Production of 'Serander®' Ceramic Binder to Satisfy Surging Demand in China
HighChem Company Limited (Headquarters: Minato-Minato-ku, Tokyo President and CEO: Ushio Taka hereinafter referred to as HighChem) has established a Chiba factory within HighChem Tokyo Research Center in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture, and began trial production of the ceramic molding binder "Serander®" in March 2022.
'Serander®', a business originally acquired by HighChem from Yuken Industries Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Yuken Industories) in January 2020, has seen significant market success in China, bolstered by HighChem's strong sales strategies. This success includes its adoption as a material for 5G smartphones by major mobile manufacturers, significantly enhancing its presence within the Chinese ceramics industry. To meet the increasing demand in China, HighChem has established a production system capable of manufacturing entirely within its own facilities, ensuring both quality and supply stability.
Main production will start at the Chiba factory in 2025!
In the future, we plan to obtain ISO9001 certification, the international standard for quality management systems, in August 2022. Additionally, the complete transfer of production from Yuken Industries is scheduled to take place in 2025.

China's ceramics industry is following the same development path as Japan, with a shift towards high-end. In this environment, Serander® has received great praise from the Chinese market for its additive properties that improve density, strength, and crack resistance. We also believe that there is room for expansion not only in China but also in emerging markets such as India, and we plan to continue to expand in ways that only HighChem can do.
Furthermore, based on the success story of "Serander®", we will actively develop the Chinese market for other "Japan's one and only technologies" and strengthen our business as a "Bridge between Japan and China".
